Art
Finds a Home
Mark C. Williams, owner of the Williams
Professional Building at 240 Wilcox in Castle Rock, has arranged for
space in his building to house a Gallery for the Greater Castle Rock Art
Guild. Mr. Williams, a former Castle Rock mayor, is a member of GCRAG
and is an accomplished photographer. The Guild has been helping Mark to
transform the interior of his space into a bright and fresh
gallery-ready venue with paint, lights and hard work donated by Mr.
Williams himself and the enthusiastic help of various guild members.
The artwork will be rotated on a regular
basis and will feature painters, photographers, sculptors, potters,
fiber artists, jewelry artists, glass artists and all of the wonderful
and varied mediums represented by the guild. There will be a regular
program of “Artist in Residence” with a rotation of artists actively
creating on site and answering questions about their process.
In celebration of this accomplishment
Mark and Linda Williams and members of the Greater Castle Rock Art Guild
are hosting a Grand Opening of the Greater Castle Rock Art Guild Gallery
on Thursday September 4, 2008 from 4:30 – 7:30 pm and Open House
September 5th, 6th and 7th at the
Williams Professional Building at 240 Wilcox St., Castle Rock, CO.

and/or providing art projects for children to participate in.
There is a
possibility we will hold the Farmers Mkt. Banner Tents open until the
beginning of the movie on the evening on the 26th.....If so, we will
need some volunteers!. If you will help, please let Dix
know......

By its very nature, art is a political act - an individual's response to something
