On
Monday, May 19 through Saturday May 24, 2008, Robert Burridge, internationally
acclaimed painter, author and teacher returns to teach art workshops in Larkspur,
Colorado. His workshops in 2007 were a sell out! The first
workshop, Abstract Acrylic Painting and Collage will be a
5-day workshop from May 19-23 and will focus on abstract and collage techniques using aqua
media.
On
Saturday, May 24, Bob and his manger, Kate Burridge, will also present a 1-day Art
Marketing Workshop. In this workshop youll learn Bobs
successful method for getting into (and winning) more shows, as well as a foolproof method
for photographing your work, how to best approach galleries to represent you, and how to
deal with copyright and licensing issues.
The cost of the 5-day workshop Abstract Acrylic
Painting and Collage (May 19-23) is $550 with a $165 deposit required (refundable up
to 30 days before the workshop). Special payment plans are available for this
workshop this year.
The cost of the one-day
Art Marketing Workshop is $80 (May 24) with a $30 deposit required (refundable
up to 30 days before the workshop).
Robert Burridge began his career as an industrial designer and became
a full time painter over twenty-two years ago. He lives and works in his studio in
Californias wine country where you can see his paintings on roadside
billboards! His original paintings can be
seen in six international galleries, on Starbucks Coffee mugs, Pearl Vodka bottles, eight
tapestries and on fine art edition prints in upscale retail stores and cruise ships.
Bob has been selected to jury new emerging painters as well as professional painters into
national and international competitions. His
work has received lifetime honors, including The Franklin Mint Award, and recently the
Philadelphia Watercolor Society's prestigious Crest Medal Award for achievement in the
arts, previously awarded to Pablo Picasso, John Singer Sargent and Georgia
O'Keeffe. He has written and co-published two artist books with his wife,
manager and best friend, Kate: Loosen Up Studio Workbook and Art Marketing: The Business
of Selling Your Art. He has produced and starred in five teaching videos and DVDs..
He is also a contributing writer for Art Calendar magazine and has written features for
various magazines, periodicals and newsletters

National award winning pastel
artist, Barb Wilson will present a workshop for artists currently working in pastel, as
well as for those who would like to learn about and experiment with chalk pastels. During the workshop, participants will learn how to make
pastel paper; understand the differences between hard and soft pastels and the use of
each; how to use pastels with other media and how to mat and frame pastel art works. |
